Have you ever heard of the energy switch guarantee?
Did you know that this is what enables switching to be a hassle-free process?
In this guide, you’ll find out everything you need to know about the energy switch guarantee, including what it is and how much you could save.
What is the energy switch guarantee?
So what exactly is the energy switch guarantee?
In the past, many customers had been put off from switching due to how stressful, worrying and painful it was.
This then ended up with many overpaying for their energy, which according to some reports, was collectively millions and millions of pounds.
Some organisations asked: why should customers suffer and energy companies benefit from a problematic switching process?
Thankfully Energy UK, which is the trade association for the UK energy industry, stepped in and created the energy switch guarantee, which is backed by the government.
The primary goal for this guarantee is to ensure that consumers aren’t put off the idea of switching, which then means you can choose the most suitable supplier for you. Regardless of whether it’s due to price or stellar customer service.
This also encourages competition in the market, which is better for UK economics as well!
Let’s look at the ten main commitments available to you.

Did you know that an average household could save up to £400 by switching from one of the big six?
That’s a considerable number.
Imagine how many cinema trips you could take with that money saved, or nights out at your favourite restaurant?
Many customers have been put off by the stress of switching in the past, which is why the energy switch guarantee exists.
Take a look at a comparison to see how much you could be saving.
Why compare suppliers?
Sometimes, the first energy supplier that you see might not be able to offer you the best deal.
The ‘big six’ energy companies, for example, have millions of customers and they are seen as being big and stable.
Small companies often have competitive pricing and excellent ratings on Trustpilot.
So, how do you choose?
You compare! Comparing allows you to compare energy suppliers side by side to see which deal might be best for you.
How do I compare?
As long as you have some essential information about your energy needs, such as your address, annual consumption or the size of your home, comparing is a lot easier than you might think.
